Cement/mortar lining method

Small and medium diameter pipes(75-650 mm dia), large diameter pipes(700mm or larger dia), variant pipes, (various dia) water pipes, industrial water pipes, seawater intake pipes, and other steel pipes, as well as cast iron pipes are subject to water stains and rust after long-term use. In the worst case, stains or rust can stabe the pipe and result in serious leakage problems. Our original regeneration technology that involves executing seamless lining of cement/mortar has been evaluated highly because it allows reinforcing of existing pipes, prolonging their lives and restoring their water intake capabilities.

Cement/mortar lining method has the following features:

High anti-corrosion property.

Mortar with high PH usually protects the iron surface making it inactive and thereby prevents the iron from rusting.

Pipe reinforcing effect

If the pipe thickness is reduced due to corrosion, the rigidity of mortar helps restore the strength of the pipe.

Improvement of flow rate

Because it makes allows seamless lining, it improves flow rate.

Effective for leak prevention

The lining layer fills in any depressions inside the pipe, and allows for the repair of a small number of small holes.

Reduces flaking

Mortar has approximately the same coefficient of linear expansion as iron, which means the thermal expansion of both materials occurs at the same rate. Mortar creates a thick film with high solid state compressive strength that exerts an arch effect, making it difficult for the mortar to flake.

Easy pretreatment of pipes

モMortar can be applied to a pipe by removing water inside the pipe or through the implementation of other simple pretreatment processes because it is comprised of cement, sand and water.

Durability over the long term.

It has been proven that the motor lining pipe has a significantly long and useful life span. This life span is a century in United States, 60 years in the U.K., and in Japan, Asahi Kohsan has been carrying out local site lining for more than 30 years.
